The Connecticut Sun would have been in the finals had they won this game, but Angel McCoughtry had other ideas in mind. She put up 16 points for the Las Vegas Aces in the third quarter to help them pull away with a strong lead, ultimately ending the game 84-75.

While leading the game with her 29 points, McCoughtry also climbed to third on the WNBA playoffs all-time steals list as she hit 77 in the first half. Teammate and WNBA 2020 MVP A’ja Wilson put up 18 points.

The Sun held a one-point lead (38-37) at halftime, with DeWanna Bonner carving the way with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. Bonner’s 12th rebound put her seventh on the WNBA playoffs all-time rebounds list with her total of 372.

The Aces took the lead immediately into the second half and never looked back. They led the third quarter 28-16 to put themselves safely out of reach, even when the Sun came back with 21 points in the fourth.

Game 5 of the five-game semifinal series will take place on Sept. 29. The time is still to be determined.
