This past week, Diana Taurasi became the first WNBA player to sink 1,000 three-pointers in her career.
After sinking her 4th triple in the opening game of the season against the Dallas Wings, Taurasi is officially the all-time leader in the WNBA for three-pointers made. Taurasi’s 26 points has propelled her team (Phoenix Mercury) to a season-opening win. She also currently holds the number one spot on the 2018 Regular Season Leader’s Board (see below), with an 8-point gap between the number one and number two spots.
As the WNBA’s top scorer, Taurasi sports an impressive career. She is a three-time WNBA champion, making her one of 13 players in WNBA history to win three WNBA championships with the same team.
In addition to her championship wins, Taurasi is a four-time Olympic gold medalist (2016, 2012, 2008, 2004), and six-time Euroleague champion.
She will face off with the rest of the Phoenix Mercury team Sunday (May 20th) against the Seattle Storms at 9 p.m. ET.
